This 'work-in-progress shot' of framed memborabilia from the Western Front includes an aerial photograph of the war fields, a drawing of the location of trenchs and other identifiable landmarks, a photograph of Captain Albert Jacka VC, MC and bar, a 14th Infantry Batallion colour patch, a bayonet and other numerous items of trench art from the battlefield. All items have been archivally conserved. Note the handmade three dimensional supports for each item. The skill is not in the overall manufacture of the frame but in the design and then the fitting and placement of the items. This type of work is all completely hand cut and is well beyond the capacity of the usual computerised mat cutter. The final compound angle frame will be finished in hand polished 2 1/2 inch American Oak.
